- Carries out ancillary tasks like measuring weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, conducting urinalysis, pregnancy tests, and using glucometer; records results in the patient's EHR chart
- Interviews patients to gather chief complaint, medical history, and allergy information; documents in patient chart
- Prepares examination room, sets up equipment, and assists provider during patient examination and treatment
- Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout the visit
- Accurately completes all laboratory requisitions and ensures safe and timely delivery of specimens to the appropriate laboratory
- Conducts in-house laboratory testing as per CLIA standards, records test results appropriately
- Helps in managing stock, inventory, and supplies; maintains requisitions as required
- Records and maintains precise clinical information in the patient's EHR chart
- Undertakes necessary training to stay updated on knowledge and skills, assisting colleagues with any gaps
- Maintains high proficiency levels in all training areas during daily tasks and when mentoring fellow staff members
- Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions
- Carries out other assigned duties as per management's requirements

The Nursing Assistant plays a key role in supporting NorthShore providers in delivering top-notch care to patients, following established clinical guidelines. This position could involve working in various departments such as adult medicine, pediatrics, or women's health. A major part of the role is to uphold high standards of care and quality measurements in these areas to ensure patients always receive excellent treatment. The ideal candidate should excel in all Northshore Clinical Services competencies.
