    Job Description

    Job Summary:
    This position is the primary engineering resource providing technical support for all component part selections at TeledyneFLIR Billerica. This includes all electronic parts, sensors, connectors, and other components that may be used in the Billerica's product lines. This position includes support for Engineering, Operations and Customer Service.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
    Lead component obsolescence activities including monitoring, reporting, responding to End-of-Life Notifications, developing alternate part solutions, and recommending Last Time Buys
    Use component life cycle tools to estimate part availability and identify alternates
    Analyze component specifications and determine testing required to formally qualify alternate parts
    Develop tests plans/screening methods for components procured outside primary distribution channels
    Maintain component specifications and component databases by generating ECO's
    Support all supplier management and procurement activities
    Work with engineering on new products to ensure all component selections are available and will meet production requirements
    Investigate new technologies that may be applicable to current products
    Collaborate with the other FLIR divisions on alternate parts, component issues and strategies
    Passion to drive continuous improvement on a daily basis

    Job Qualifications:


    Requires a BSEE and at least 5 years' work experience or equivalent experience in a field related to electronic component engineering.

    Working knowledge of electronics design and part reliability is a plus.

    This position is the primary component engineering resource in Billerica, so all issues related to obsolescence and part availability will be directed through this position.

    Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S.

    national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S.
