The Beachwood City School District has one position available for summer 2025 for:High School ELA June 8 - June 19 weeks)8:30 am - 11:30 amLicensed to teach ELA grades 7-12 BEACHWOOD BOARD OF EDUCATION JOB DESCRIPTION Position K-12 TeacherReports to Building PrincipalEmployment Status Beachwood Federation of Teachers BFT ContractI Position Summary The classroom teacher is responsible for the planning assessment of student learning and delivery of academic instruction in his/her assigned subject or grade level management of classroom activities and behavior providing and/or referring appropriate intervention and communicating with parents and staff related to student growth and achievement II Required Education Experience Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education Current Ohio Department of Education Licensure Highly Qualified Teacher designation in the assigned subject area Meet all health requirements mandated by law Satisfactory completion of the BCII and FBI background check Possession of a valid motor vehicle license III Job Responsibilities Duties Instructional Planning Design instructional lessons goals using appropriate resources and knowledge of students' skills knowledge language proficiency learning styles special needs effectively present learning objectives achieve desired outcomes Create lessons unit structures that support instructional outcomes engage students meaningful learning varied appropriate students Maintain current accurate dailyweekly lesson plans align state standards District's adopted courses studentcurriculum goals ensure plans available substitute teachers when necessary Assist with preparation IEP504 other interventions assigned meeting eligibility requirements Develop appropriate formative summative assessments provide accurate meaningful data inform instruction adjust curriculum instructional methods enhance student learning Effectively collaborate colleagues incorporate research-based exemplary instructional practices IV Required Knowledge Skills Abilities Knowledge federal state laws regulations District policies related curriculum instruction Academic areas teaching methodology Child development understanding age-appropriate tasks Ability work others team independently limited supervision Problem solve organize react productively interruptions changing conditions Maintain composure stressful situations make sound professional decisions V Personal Conduct Requirements Employee exercise honesty integrity relationships Board Administration Promote positive image district exemplary personal conduct Report misconduct violations policy procedure following established Board policy VI Physical Demands Ability hear speak read write sit stand extended periods time use hands operate computer equipment kneel bend waist reach overhead above shoulders horizontally retrieve store files supplies ability lift carry push pull items maximum fifty pounds This job description subject change implies these only duties responsibilities performed incumbent required follow instructions perform duties supervisor appointing authority >
