    TTS is seeking an Electrical engineer who will leverage their expertise in the design, modelling, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of Low, Medium, and High Voltage equipment to support Power Generation and Oil & Gas conversion, modification, upgrade, and service projects throughout the world.

    The Electrical engineer shall work as part of the TTS Engineering team with emphasis on:

    Generator Protection & Control System Design

    Generator Excitation System Design

    Electrical System Modelling and Protection Studies

    Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear

    System Installation, Testing, and Commissioning


    Duties & Responsibilities:


    Review and ensure the project design fulfills all Customer requirements as established in the Customer's technical specifications, request for quotation/proposal, and/or purchase order.


    Drawing creation, review, and approval for equipment assembly/layout drawings, electrical diagrams, system block diagrams, system wiring schematics, system topology/architecture diagrams, and communications/network diagrams using AutoCAD design software.


    Generation of Project Bill of Materials including component selection, drawings, specifications, cable schedules, and documents for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.


    Analysis for electrical systems, including Short Circuit Analysis, Protection Relay Settings (development and programming), Protection Co-ordination Studies, and Arc Flash Studies in support of project deliverables.

    Modelling turbine/generator Governor and Excitation systems.

    Troubleshoot existing systems (electrical control, protection, and/or excitation) using historical data, real-time data, and customer feedback.

    Site services to include, surveys, installation supervision, testing, startup, and Customer training.

    Ensure projects are completed according to project plan (scope and budget), schedule, bills of materials, drawings, and requirements.

    Work to TTS Engineering and Project Execution guidelines, standards, and processes.

    Provide project coordination, reporting, and documentation to TTS Project Management.

    Participate in proposal generation by developing technical scope descriptions, bills of materials, notes/clarifications/exclusions/deviations and overall proposal review.

    Effective communication and collaboration with multiple levels within the organization.

    Mentoring of less experienced TTS engineers in the electrical engineering discipline.

    Requirements



    Experience:

    Desired minimum 5 years design, installation, or commissioning experience with power generation control and protection equipment.

    Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) with an emphasis on Power System Design.

    Desired Skills &

    Experience:

    Previous experience in any of the following design activities:

    Power System modelling software platforms such as ETAP.

    Power System Design studies – Protection Co-ordination, Short Circuit Analysis, Load Flow Calculations, Arc Flash Studies are examples.

    Governor and Generator Modelling – NERC MOD-025/026/027 testing and verification.

    Previous experience in any of the following field activities:

    Protection Relay secondary injection testing using equipment such as Omicron or Megger.

    Generators and/or Power Transformer electrical testing.

    Component testing – Current or Potential Transformers.

    Generator Protection and Excitation system commissioning – Basler DECS and Schweitzer are examples.

    Experience with any of the following hardware platforms and equipment:

    Generator Excitation Systems – Basler (DECS), ABB, GE

    Medium Voltage Switchgear – 4160Vac to 11kV (50 Hz) or 13.8kV (60 Hz)

    Generator Step-Up transformers

    Auxiliary and Power Potential transformers

    Current Transformers (CTs) and Potential Transformers (PTs)

    Previous supervisory role(s) leading individual contributors or project teams


    Travel:
    Travel to customer sites is required.

    Travel is project based (domestic and international) and can vary based on project timelines.
