- California Education Specialist Instruction Credential or other appropriate specialist credential
- Master's Degree in Special Education or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing special education services in public schools
- Outstanding diagnostic skills in all aspects of the student assessment process (i.e., testing, parent and teacher interviewing, developing rapport with challenging students, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and written language skills
- Extensive experience in assessment and interventions serving students with a variety of disabling conditions (e.g., learning disabilities, intellectual disability, autism, severe emotional disturbance, communication disorders, physical disabilities, medically fragile, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience working with students who have disabilities ranging from mild to severe
- Knowledge and experience in assessment and interventions serving students with disabilities who are also English Language Learners
- Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a transdisciplinary assessment team and routinely complete assignments within pre-established timelines
- Ability to present assessment findings and implications in a clear and sensitive manner to parents and school district personnel at post-assessment conferences
- Valid driver's license and ability to participate and travel throughout the DCC's catchment area (13 counties), including overnight stays as needed Desirable Skills
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Training and experience administering the ADOS-2
- Knowledge of California Department of Education's California Dyslexia Guidelines
- Ability and desire to prepare and present trainings on a variety of assessment and intervention topics
- Excellent technology-related skills

Minimum QualificationsThe individual selected to fill this position will serve as a member of a transdisciplinary assessment team and work with some of California's most complex and challenging students.
Primary job duties include the evaluation and diagnosis of a wide range of learning and behavioral disorders.In conjunction with providing high quality diagnostic assessment services, the School Psychologist develops specific, practical, evidence-based interventions and strategies based on the team's findings.
In addition, the School Psychologist will have opportunities to develop and provide professional development to educators, service providers, and parents on topics related to learning, behavior and interventions at various local, regional and statewide educational trainings and conferences.
