    Position Overview

    Development/Process Engineer (Remote, East Coast candidates only please apply).

    The primary aspect of this role will be to support company growth in our traditional print and convert market.

    The ideal candidate will have familiarity with film design (primarily sealant webs) as well as good knowledge of the critical needs of the converting process and end use.

    The role will interact heavily with Sales and ultimately customers to assist in product design, troubleshooting, etc.


    The position would be remote, with preference given to candidates close to a company facility or at least in the middle to eastern portion of the US.

    Travel could be up to 70%; 40-50% may be more typical however.

    Responsible for the research into and development of new products with primary focus on substrate webs
    for printing, laminating and converting; introducing enhancements and improvements to existing products;
    establishing testing protocols for product design and testing; and redesign of established product portfolio.
    Assist and manage Process Engineering development to include SOC's, QA testing and methodology.
    Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for the proper development of new products, to include the understanding and
    implementation of all requisite performance, cost and regulatory elements pertaining to the print and
    convert market

    • Interface with sales members, managers and clients to identify new product opportunities, and from that
    outline new products for development

    • Regularly interface with floor personnel (supervisory and operators) to better discern any
    updates/changes needed to improve operational uptime and profitability

    • Responsible for coordinating all technical testing and analysis, to include testing of products made within
    the plant(s) as well as competitive analyses of alternate films to define characteristics and properties

    • Identify opportunities to improve costs through new resins, film designs or extrusion techniques
    • Lead the technical staff through a deep and current understanding of polymer and process developments
    • Resolve technical issues promptly, and communicate these corrections through new SOC's and Lessons
    Learned so all personnel can improve

    • Stay up to date on material and equipment development through interaction with resin suppliers, OEM
    companies, as well as attending trade shows and conferences

    • Coordinate with technical members at other company facilities to cross-train on products and processes
    • Lead efforts to "e load share & quote; production by shifting products, as needed, between different plants
    • Support all quality systems (i.e. SQF, IMS, etc.) by ensuring adherence to requirements in all job
