    Description
    The Unit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day unit operation including direct supervision of unit staff.

    This role interacts with physicians, nursing staff, other unit staff, and other departments and interdisciplinary team members on a daily basis and provides clinical support to patient/resident care by exception only.

    The position facilitates and fosters interdisciplinary participation in patient/resident care activities and coaches, mentors, motivates and empowers clinical staff.

    The Unit Manager creates a climate of interdepartmental respect and collaboration, and adheres and models the Covenant Health mission, vision and values.

    Description:


    The Unit Manager will over see the Outpatient mental Health program as well as the Emergency Mental Health Program and Psychology.

    You will work between both departments ensuring collaboration and support amongst both teams. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders and will lead by professional example. The Unit Manager plays a key role in safe and timely patient care and patient/client outcomes. To minimize negative outcomes, the Unit Manager will possess considerable clinical knowledge, skill level and leadership abilities. The Unit Manager will also have knowledge related to protocols, standards and techniques for the department and patient/client population.

    The work impacts the level of patient/client care by ensuring that clinical practice reflects the most current, evidence-based techniques and standards.

    Required Qualifications:

    Minimum 5 years experience in Addiction and Mental Health preferably in a community or outpatient setting. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in an Emergency Department.
    Strong communication skills. Ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders. Ability to Multitask. Leads by example in all professional capacities.
