    Description

    Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with an industry-leading multi-state operator to identify an experienced Cost Accountant to join their growing accounting team in sunny Florida. The Company has active operations spanning 13 states and over 10 production facilities, offering employees an opportunity to gain strong industry knowledge and potential for growth.

    Relocation assistance will be provided for their location near Tampa, Florida.

    Overview of the Cost Accountant role:

    • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
    • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities, and expenses).
    • Reconcile bank statements.
    • Conduct month-end and year-end closures.
    • Prepare documents for audits.
    • Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
    • Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes.
    • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in carrying out responsibilities.
    • Analyze budgets and create expense reports.
    • Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
    • Conduct analysis on costing data and present potential cost-saving opportunities to management.
    • Apply principles of cost accounting to conduct in-depth studies, providing detailed financial information beyond what general accounting systems offer.
    • Maintain a weekly product cost roll-up for reporting product gross margins.
    • Analyze cost models and trends to identify potential cost savings.
    • Assist cost accountants with their weekly/monthly reporting responsibilities.
    • Create meaningful inventory reports with business SMEs, encompassing cycle count adjustments, inventory by location and species, etc.
    • Participate in other projects as needed, supporting cost and financial-related matters.

    Preferred Qualifications for Senior Cost Accountant:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting or finance
    • 3+ years cost in cost accounting/cost analysis
    • SAP software experience is a plus
