    Administrative Assistant – Permit Center

    Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform administrative and staff support in a building department
  • Assist building department staff in tracking of projects, - log in, log out etc
  • May also perform responsibilities of receptionist and prepare shipping labels
  • Process permit applications, distribute plan review letters, and issue permits
  • Calculating Fees
  • Reviewing Forms for completeness and accuracy
  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Schedule inspection requests
  • Submit plans for permitting to local municipality
  • Answer questions and provide information to the public and applicants, regarding building department requirements, regulations, and procedures
  • Input building/property information into computer system
  • Perform general administrative duties in support of the office, as assigned
  • Qualifications & Education

    Minimum acceptable education and experience - High School Diploma or equivalent. Three or more years' experience of prior administrative assistant employment.

    Good computer skills and working knowledge of Excel and Word. Deltek knowledge a plus. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
