Summary
Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Purchasing Manager will lead a team of category buyers, and oversee the overall procurement and sourcing of parts, products, services for fleet, heavy equipment and corporate buys.
The Procurement Manager will play a vital role in sourcing, recommending and managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely deliveries and optimizing procurement processes to meet the needs of the company.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
Identify and recommend suppliers to best meet the Company's service and pricing needs, and develop and maintain effective business relationships with selected suppliers and identify new suppliers that offer greater service and cost savings.
Recommend and implement approved costs reduction strategies while maintaining high-quality standard for fleet parts.
Implement best practices for competitive bidding and conducting price analysis, and ensure procurement team is informed and trained on such practices.
Manage open requisitions and purchase orders for timely and accurate placement of orders based on need and demand forecast.Administer all contracts and service agreements.
Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance & Operations to ensure that ordered and purchased parts meet quality standards.
Works closely with the inventory team to manage stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
Stays informed with market trends, pricing, and industry developments to make informed procurement recommendations and decisions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to procurement and supply chain activities.
Monitor supplier performance and address issues in a timely manner.
Report on procurement activities, cost savings and supplier performance to management.
Participate in routine inventory and procurement audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
4 years experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role. Experience in the automotive or truck parts industry is a plus.
Strong knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes, strategies, and best practices.
Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
Analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in procurement software tools, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Excellent communication and interpersonal service skills/
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Annual Salary Range:
$85,000 - $110,000
