The *Converting Machine Operator *is responsible for the set up, operation and leadership of the pouch machine teams.
This position must make sure bags/pouches are made according to required specs and also make adjustments to the machine as needed.
*SEVERAL SCHEDULES:$20 to $24 an hour depending on Position and Experience

*PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*~ Set up and safe operation of pouch machine
o Perform as the lead operator on pouch machines
o Troubleshoots and resolves mechanical maintenance problems on pouch machine
o Keeps the pouch machine area well supplied with materials for the next shift
o Continuously monitors pouch machine operations for efficiency, quality and minimal scrap
*~ Provide leadership and expertise to other team members
o Train assistant pouch and packer team members
*~ Maintains accurate production records
o Reads and understands specification sheets
o Ensures production logs are legible, accurate and on time
o Communicates well and interacts with other departments
*~ Quality & Safety
o Must follow written Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), follow Safe Quality Food (SQF) programs applicable to the position, and perform various cleaning and inspection duties to maintain SQF and food safety compliance as assigned.
o Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements
o Ensure bag/pouch quality
*EXPECTATIONS:
To efficiently lead the operations on pouch machines, and ensure machine is set up appropriately and produces quality-manufactured pouches
*DECISION MAKING AND ACCOUNTIBILITY:
Stop the machine if there is a problem with quality
Make adjustments to the machine
