    Position Summary:

    As a member of Database Administration Team, you will be responsible for providing second-level support for our IT operations, product engineering, data services, and data analysis teams; responsible for managing RDMS and DBMS (relational, data warehouse, data lake, data mart, and operational data stores) services hosted in multiple datacenters. Areas of coverage include but are not limited to MS SQL Server, GCP Cloud Databases and multiple common document-oriented databases. Daily operational and development duties of a Senior Database Administrator are: technical elaboration and enablement during application planning and engineering agile exercises, workload performance profiling and optimization, design/implement/maintenance of blue-green production environments, query optimization, and after-hours on-call support.

    Analyze/troubleshoot all levels of server, application and network issues.

    Document, track and monitor technical issues to ensure timely resolution

    Provide timely and thorough input for regular status reporting

    Take ownership of issues, work independently or escalate as needed, and find creative ways to resolve problems

    Perform other duties and special projects as required or assigned

    Work closely with the IT operations, product engineering, data services, and data analysis teams to provide database development/administrative technical enablement

    Provide advice/recommendations on database architecture, design and implementation

    Establish database design conventions in best practice, assure conventions and standards are compliant and fully documented

    Work with data modelers to review and optimize logical data models and implement them in physical database schemas using data modeling tools

    Communicate with non-technical users and technical personnel on business and product delivery teams

    Support and participate in the database change management and deployment processes

    Develop and implement stored procedure verification tools that assist developers in troubleshooting and performance improvement

    Develop and implement procedures for the synchronization between different database environments

    Provide training and documentation for knowledge transfer to other database team members

    50% - Database development and administrative technical enablement, and collaboration with application team members, assigned to Agile story work, elaboration exercises

    30% - ITOPS duties: Ticket handling, audit, plan, patch, test, and implementing of changes

    15% - Document processes, procedures, configuration settings and infrastructure design for business continuity and disaster recovery

    5% - Includes on-call activities

    Position Requirements:

    The Senior Database Administrator shall possess 7+ years of technical knowledge, and experience with the following systems, platforms, and/or applications

    Hands-on/applied experience in database development/administration using MSSQL, GCP Cloud databases, common document-oriented databases; including performance monitoring, capacity and multi-site disaster planning, transaction workload balancing, performance tuning.

    MSSQL: SQL Clustering, Replication, Log shipping, Database Mirroring, Availability Groups

    GCP Cloud Databases

    Common document-oriented databases: MongoDB, CouchDB, Couchbase, Solr

    Extensive knowledge with complex SQL, stored procedures, and SQL programming, and optimization

    Experience in Agile database development and administration

    Proficiency with MSSQL running in converged or hyperconverged environments - VMWare & physical

    Experience in database schema design including logical and physical for large scale, highly available application systems

    Good writing skills to provide documentation for DBA and software development teams

    Strong knowledge/understanding of ITSM/ITIL support processes and methodologies, incident management, change control management, problem management

    Salary: $107,000 - $187,000

    Compensation Range (USD): MIN MID MAX
