    METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County

    The Senior Radiologic Technologist (Specialist-Safety) performs the most difficult technical work and acts as lead over the Radiologic Technologists (Safety).

    Directs radiology operations and checks work performed. Performs the more complex range of radiographic services including scheduling all patient appointments including portable X-rays. Compiles Quality Assurance reports monthly, maintains all equipment. Monitors staff observance of radiation safety principles, status of staff certification, use of radiation detection badges, etc. Provides radiology information or assistance to physicians as necessary.

    Manages correspondence, trains technologists in the operation of the equipment, department procedures, method of patient care radiological techniques and positioning.


    Possession of a current valid certificate as a Certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health Services is required.
