    Description

    Director of Recreation - Therapeutic Recreation Director

    Welcome to our team! We are currently looking for a Director of Recreation who will be in charge of providing residents with therapeutic social and cognitive entertainment, activities, trips, and events.

    • Manages Recreation staff and ensures daily activities are carried out
    • Reviews activity calendars for completeness and ensures a variety of activities are planned
    • Actively participates, organizes, and monitors weekly activities and events

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide training and development to Recreation staff
    • Plan and manage a comprehensive facility-wide therapeutic recreation program

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in directing therapeutic programs for seniors or physically/mentally challenged adults
    • Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, or related field
    • Working knowledge of software programs such as WORD, OUTLOOK, and EXCEL
    • Ability to manage multiple events and programs in a challenging multi-cultural environment
    • Highly organized, energetic, motivated, and creative

    This position requires experience in supervising staff and completion of a Therapeutic Recreation Director program.
