The role of the Category Manager is responsible for Category Management for Plastics and mechanical direct materials, where you will be a key member of the Supply Chain Management team.
You will be ensuring that developing, planning and implementing sourcing and procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products and services to ensure an exceptional supply base is developed and maintained to ensure material availability and service levels to support local business and customer needs.
Your responsibilitiesLeveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process to implement effective sourcing strategies in line with local and global business and category strategiesEnsure suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirementsTCO (Total Cost of Ownership) savings, payment terms, OTD (On Time Delivery), quality, lead time, budget target settings and follow up for continuous improvementDefine and establish local standard agreements with all major suppliersProvide and maintain standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with company directives and guidelinesDesign and implement cost out programs and/or processes to reach annual savings and operational cost reduction targetsYour backgroundBachelor's degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience OR Associate degree with minimum 7 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum 9 years of relevant experience in sourcing/procurement/purchasingProficiency with software applications such as MS Office (Example; Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)Experience with SAP and Ariba SSS preferredStrong data analytics with continuous improvement mindsetDemonstrated negotiation skills in a multicultural, global business environmentA collaborative, solution focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skillsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USBenefitsRetirement planLife insuranceDisability insuranceWellbeing programHealthcare planMore about usABB Drive Products is a technology leader serving industries, infrastructure and machine builders with world-class drives.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $74,900 and $139,100 annually.
