    **Inventory Planner (Parts Planning Group)** Location **New Jersey, Camden** Job Code **32810** # of Openings **1** **SUMMARY**

    Responsible for the forecasting, demand planning and distribution of service parts. Creates purchase and transfer orders, monitors supplier compliance to purchase order due dates and expedites parts that are in short supply. Forecasting, ordering and distribution are the primary responsibilities for the Inventory Planner. Planners will have service level (percentage of orders and lines filled) and months supply objectives to monitor their performance. Maintaining fill ratios, adequate supply, on-time ordering, distribution and expediting, reduction of on-hold parts and non-referral parts are the key performance indicators of the planner's responsibilities.

    **WORK LOCATION:** Camden, NJ (HQ)

    **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

    Conducts daily review of stock keeping units (SKUs) assigned in the Xelus work queue to address backorders, projected stock outs, purchase orders and inventory allocations. Uses Xelus and Oracle software to review assigned SKUs for actions required including expediting backorder and projected stock out conditions, placement of purchase orders and allocation of inventory in order to assure acceptable service levels for Subaru, its retailers and customers.

    Chooses the correct forecasting method for each SKU and understands the concept of bill of materials (BOM) planning. Develops seasonal demand forecasts and end-o- model sell down strategies as well as launch IOQ (Initial Order Quantities).

    Analyzes demand and distributes stock across Subaru of America's (SOA's) parts Regional Distribution Center (RDC) network.

    Monitors, on a daily basis, stock situations and the strategic and methodical distribution of parts based on demand and availability across the parts warehouses.

    Communicates and collaborates with SOA, Subaru Corporation (SBR) and all internal departments at SOA to provide estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) and parts solutions, expedites when needed, and minimizes availability issues in order to provide the best parts service to the end customer.

    Collaborates daily with RDCs and warehouse managers to process hot shipments and transfers.

    Expedites parts as required to resolve critical inventory shortages and customer issues due to supplier non-compliance and unplanned/unforeseen situations. Provides assistance as needed to Parts Information Coordinators, Regional Distribution Centers and Customer Retailer Services staff on all parts issues. Continually reviews inventory (low level) exception reports, back-order reports, etc. Adapts, innovates and implements solutions to ever-changing supply chain demands, scenarios and exceptions.

    Resolves receipt discrepancies with Accounting and provides direction for defective inventory and part returns to vendors. Reconciles warehouse receipt discrepancies with suppliers. Coordinates necessary activities with Regional Distribution Centers in the event non-conforming inventory is found to have been supplied by a vendor. Facilitates any return activity that is required including issue adjustments and Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) references.

    **REQUIRED SKILLS**

    Proficiency with inventory forecasting software (Xelus) and Oracle software.

    Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Qlik).

    Excellent customer relations skills; assertiveness and thorough follow-up with suppliers and Internal Departments.

    Strong multitasking skills required.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    APICS certification CPIM, CSCP or CIRM a plus.

    **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:** BA/BS plus 4-6 years of related experience at a minimum.
