- Be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must hold and maintain current certification requirements.

- Follow the IEP to include Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) to provide beneficial and effective care to students.
- Assist students with day-to-day tasks.
- Observe student behaviors to collect data.
- Teach specific skills required for skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction.
- Nurture a student's social abilities.
- Inform teacher and itinerant personnel about behavioral intervention findings.
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity and building the value for the student of social interaction.
- Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
- Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding.
- Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)
- Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, interval based recording, etc.
- Follows the goals and interventions utilizing sound judgement and seeks out appropriate consultation.
- Collaborates with teachers and itinerant personnel to provide services effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment.
- Collaborates with teachers and itinerant personnel on reinforcement and early intervention information.
