    The Portfolio Data Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data to support decision-making processes within the rail industry.

    This position combines analytical skills with general industry knowledge of various rail car types to collect, organize and report on various data sets related to rail car operations.

    What you'll do:


    Gather data from various sources including internal databases, industry reports and third-party sourcesEnsure data quality and accuracy by implementing quality control measuresUses business intelligence reporting tools like QlikSense to filter data and get intelligence reports that meet requirementsOrganize and maintain data repositories for easy access and retrievalUtilize industry reporting to retrieve data and understand reporting requirements for these systemsPerform data management activitiesCollaborate with cross functional teams and work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and provide analytical supportAccept/Reject compliance documentation by utilizing knowledge of freight billing maintenance practices to determine applicability of compliance documentation requirementsWhat you'll need:Associate degree and 2 years experience in rail industry1 year of experience in office administrationKnowledge of rail car types in North American freight rail fleet and industryExperience performing data management activities in enterprise data applicationsUnderstand maintenance scopes of work and freight maintenance billing practicesKnowledge of industry reporting systems (UMLER, TCID, EHMS) and understand reporting requirements for those systemsAnalytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamEOE Trinity Industries, Inc., and its subsidiary or affiliated companies (hereinafter Trinity) are committed to equal employment opportunity.
