Tokio Marine HCC - Specialty Group is a market leader in providing specialized insurance products for the sports, entertainment and promotional industries. We provide an unmatched portfolio of products including event cancellation, high limit disability, kidnap and ransom, weather, travel, event liability and much more. We cover major sports and entertainment events, professional athletes and entertainers and other unique assets.
Located at the headquarters of TMHCC Specialty Group, the HR team supports multiple domestic and international locations. As Human Resources Associate, you willbe a key member of the Specialty HR team responsible for diverse duties. Additionally, you will interact with all levels of employees and management within the Specialty Group, other TMHCC Specialty branch locations as well as the Tokio Marine HCC corporate office.
This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: policy administration, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, employment law compliance, and additional office administration activities. Some of the tools TMHCC utilizes to assist in achieving our objectives include PeopleSoft, Jobvite, Reflektive, Accurate, Box, and Workday (coming soon) to name a few.
Within the first 30 days , become familiar with the Specialty Group business (what we do), structure (employees), locations (where we are), and our supporting colleagues in the corporate office (the HR Specialists). Gain an understanding of TMHCC's Handbook, HR policies and procedures and the inner workings of the company.
Within the first 60 days , become adept at utilizing the HR tools to perform staff level recruiting, onboarding, recordkeeping, absence management and other various duties. Cross train with HR team to learn other HR duties for backup coverage.
Within the first 90 days , administer the quarterly performance review process, monitor progress and collaborate with managers to develop goals and assist in employees' professional development.
Ongoing , actively participate in corporate-initiated HR projects, maintain personnel and recruiting files in accordance with Company and legal requirements, compile a variety of reports as requested by local and corporate offices, act as a resource to staff and managers and take initiative as necessary. Work in collaboration with the HR team to partner with managers to develop a pipeline of candidates for future internship roles. Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities. Up to 5% travel to branch and corporate locations may be required.
Qualifications:Ideally, as the successful candidate you will bring a solid foundation of at least two years of relevant HR experience along with:
Experience using Workday, preferred
Exceptional attention to details;
Sound communication skills, both written and verbal;
Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy and legal requirements;
Advanced organizational and analytical skills, possess the ability to problem-solve and provide cost effective solutions to situations as they occur;
Flexibility and willingness to learn;
Inquisitive and pro-active attitude, not afraid to offer suggestions on improving/streamlining processes;
Approachability, ability to be tactful and possess strong listening skills; and
Adept at working as part of a team yet capable of working independently as needed.
Education requirements – we would like the successful candidate to possess a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or its equivalent in education and/or experience.
Preferred – SHRM-CP or working towards certification.
