POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, recommending, implementing, and overseeing the Credit Union's marketing staff and program including developing annual marketing plan and budget. Formulate and supervise product marketing, advertising, promotional programs, digital/online marketing, and MCIF software and analysis as well as perform ongoing market research. Develop and serve as brand/culture steward for organization. Develop and manage the external member communications for the entire organization. Develop and serve as provider of both internal and external market analysis for entire organization. Develop and deliver sales and marketing training programs to Credit Union staff in support of line of business initiatives. Oversee member relations and ensure that the Credit Union's professional reputation is projected and maintained. Work closely with Executive Management Team to accomplish department goals and responsibilities as well as strategic initiatives and goals of credit union as a whole as well as participate in senior leader/management meetings within the organization.

Annual Starting Salary: $99,000-$148,000 based on experience

Experience and Skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluate and advise executive management of the impact of long range plans for new programs/strategies
  • Develop and serve as brand steward for entire organization
  • Develop policies, procedures, and programs as it relates to marketing and implement these upon approval
  • Develop and manage external member communications for the entire organization
  • Serve on and/or direct committees as needed to ensure effective interface among marketing, public relations, business development, departments, and branches to ensure established policies, programs, objectives, and goals are communicated
  • Attend and actively participate in senior management/leadership meetings, ALCO meetings, strategic planning sessions, etc.
  • Develop and serve as primary provider of both internal and external market analysis for entire organization
  • Represent the Credit Union to outside entities such as members of the press, governmental representatives, examiners, auditors, vendors, and support companies.
  • Assume responsibility for developing and implementing effective sales and marketing programs
  • Assist management with the development of long and short run strategic marketing plans
  • Conduct market research and develop marketing strategies to complement and support Credit Union goals and strategic objectives
  • Review marketing programs regularly and modify/adjust as needed. Ensure the integrity and quality of all marketing efforts.
  • Construct and monitor the marketing budget and annual marketing plan
  • Develop and implement training, promotion, and advertising programs that further marketing objectives. Compile promotional materials and report results.
  • Ensure marketing functions are well coordinated with other Credit Union functions and support organizational objectives
  • Ensure marketing research is valid, reliable, and a useful tool for management
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining effective public relations with members, marketing professionals, and external business contacts
  • Monitor Marketing's progress on plan and budget items and report on results
  • Establish and implement effective communication for all marketing related initiatives
  • Ensure that members' requests and questions are promptly, appropriately, and courteously resolved
  • Ensure that members are properly informed of Credit Union services, products, and policies
  • Ensure that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained
  • Ensure sale and marketing programs are appropriate, effective, and reviewed regularly
  • Ensure service and product needs of current and prospective members are identified and met
  • Maintain professional and effective public relations
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and coordination with Credit Union management and lines of business
  • Provide assistance and support as needed
  • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns
  • Provide suggestions to management for better member service
  • Complete required reports, records, and related documents accurately and promptly
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Ensure required and requested reports are accurate and timely. Suggestions for improved performance are provided.
  • Manage, lead, and develop Marketing Department staff to ensure quality and timely delivery of products and initiatives
  • Review and identify cost effective and efficient utilization of Marketing Department financial and human resources
  • Establish goals and work plans for Marketing Department staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend merit increases for Marketing Department staff
  • Coach, motivate, monitor and develop Marketing Department staff
  • Attend and actively participate in Credit Union and community events

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration with emphasis in marketing or equivalent experience

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Credit Union products and services
  • Understanding of sales and promotion techniques
  • Familiarity with local vendors (printers, typesetters, media operations, etc.)

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of seven years' experience in a leadership role within a marketing department
  • Extensive experience of digital/online marketing strategies
  • Experience and familiarity with MCIF software and target marketing strategies
  • Five years experience in managing two or more employees

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
  • Able to operate computer applications
  • Able to use graphic arts tools and supplies

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standard office conditions
  • Low to moderate noise
  • Limited lifting up to 10 lbs.
