Client Account Specialist

This is a Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Days position. This position is 80% remote, with one day on site required per week.

Position Summary:

The Client Account Specialist helps clients develop a financial plan for treatment services and helps ensure clients keep appointments to get the care they need.

The position maximizes the value of financial assistance awarded to clients; eliminates financial barriers to facilitate admission into higher levels of care; supports an optimal payer mix; ensures that clients pay for their care in a timely manner; and increases attendance to treatment services.

Responsibilities:
Pro-actively identifies and escalates client account problems to Client Account Lead.
Demonstrates empathy, compassion, respect and active listening when answering questions and making phone inquiries related to client accounts.

Works with the client excellence team to develop an individual financial strategy with the client which sets expectations regarding client responsibility for service, i.e.

deductible, coinsurance and copays

Works in accordance with TEP Financial Review policy to resolve delinquent accounts; prepares payment plans and monitors compliance with payment plans; directs accounts to outside collection agencies when necessary.

Reviews applications for financial assistance; contacts clients regarding the outcome; and allocates funding to approved financial assistance recipients.
Works with clients and care teams to resolve attendance issues, acting in accordance with TEP Attendance Policy.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Client Excellence Manager

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of experience in health care working with client benefit coverage and/or claims preferred
Experience working in a behavioral health environment preferred

Basic knowledge of MS Office programs with ability to learn new applications Competencies: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Solid Interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive relationships.

Demonstrate initiative and exercise good judgement (e.g., in starting tasks, asking questions, identifying and discussing problems, ability to structure own work, stay on task).

Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.

90% sitting/10% standing
Ability to lift 15 pounds
Ability to focus in an open workspace environment
Ability to adjust to a workflow pace that fluctuates widely.
