The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.


Mechanical and electrical hardware assembly including system integration, trouble shooting, final test, and documentation per KLA standards. Assembly and mounting of mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies, systems, modules, servers, cables, and other subsystems. Document assembly procedures, integration, calibration, and final test. Troubleshoot and fix electrical and mechanical problems (power and control box designs), including measurement of amperage, voltage, resistance. Assist in the development of test and assembly build procedures. Assist in creating interconnection and block diagrams. Aid in resolving mechanical and electrical issues throughout the product development phase. Understand electrical schematics, make corrections and red-lines where required to ensure document accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively with KLA Engineers as well as suppliers. Be able to work independently and with other people responsibly and safely.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Aptitude in the assembly of mechanical, opto-mechanical, and electrical modules and systems

  • Safety awareness/knowledge in working around AC & DC electrical power.

  • Understand electrical schematics, make corrections and red-lines

  • Knowledge of wire gauges, wire color, cabling signals including EMO, interlocks, AC and DC power, shielding, and coordinate with EE for approval where needed. Familiar with connectors, wire crimping, labeling, tooling/wire-boards, length limitations with discrete wires, and experience with fiber optics.

  • Strong problem analysis and solving capability

  • Thrive working on cutting edge technologies

  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and work independently in a team.

  • 5% Travel -flexibility to travel outside of Michigan based on business needs

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics, with at least 5 years of experience. OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
