Job Description The Marketing Compl Bus Control Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within the management of complex and critical disciplinary areas across the US Consumer Bank, which includes US Branded Cards.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the US Branded Cards business as well as a strong foundation in Citi's risk infrastructure – to ensure processes achieve the objectives of the function.There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise.
Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level along with diplomacy skills in order to guide, influence and convince colleagues and occasional external customers.Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables.
The role is also accountable for delivery of enhanced process controls and routines to ensure the broader organization is continuously strengthening our process controls – and satisfactorily passes all risk/audit exams.Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.
Contributes to the development, maintenance and implementation of enterprise wide standards and strategies to strengthen and enhance the control/audit function across Marketing Information Management (MIM).
Provides guidance to MIM business partners to develop process improvements and value for end users via control team Responsible for interaction and thought leadership in working with both Internal Audit and External regulators, and responsible of quarter end control results reviews with MIM.
Review quarterly risk assessment performed by internal control partners to ensure accuracy and that results are actioned upon Process map and identify opportunities to enhance controls – or introduce new ones – while remaining compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Partner closely across a multitude of stakeholders (Compliance, Marketing, Legal, Internal controls) to ensure process improvements are instituted and adopted by the business.
Assess effectiveness of current controls and risk tiers and propose alternatives in order to more efficiently manage risk Collaborate on changes and to internal and regulatory policies as well oversight for Compliance monitoring and testing.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.Assess impact of regulatory and policy changes on the marketing business and ensure changes are adopted throughout the organization. Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

3-5 years of prior experience in regulatory compliance related work – Internal Audit, Risk management, Internal Procedures and Controls required Proven ability to work cross-functionally exercising leadership through influence, persuasion and negotiation Exemplary thought leadership skills; able to build and lead strategic initiatives Process mapping skills Excellent relationship management skills Experience with data/systems integration a plus History of interactions with both Internal and External Regulators Marketing experience a plus Education: Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
