Summary The Energy Storage-Electrical Engineer-East Coast will work within the Technology team and will provide support in general product development activities such as qualification, technical due diligence, testing, product deployment, and commissioning while creating scalable processes.

Description The Energy Storage-Electrical Engineer-East Coast will:
Gain thorough understanding of the company's product offerings and its key components i.e.

inverters and batteries and contrast their features based on important technical parameters, product capabilities and project requirements to determine compatibility, compliance, selection and product configuration and assess tradeoffs.

Curate content on Confluence and/or author technical writeups on various topics such as product capabilities, guidance on selection, usage, application and other topics as needed.

Use Scrum work flow and JIRA ticketing system as a way to perform daily work and coordinate with other team members.

Use Excel, Matlab, etc to develop tools or calculators to expedite internal process and assigned work. Collaborate with different cross-functional teams: Sales, Engineering, etc. and stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance on product selection and general technical support. Support projects during commissioning and site acceptance testing with equipment configuration settings and troubleshooting equipment faults and reviewing results.

Profile The ideal Energy Storage-Electrical Engineer-East Coast will demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for product development and attention to detail and will have the following qualifications:

Master's Degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on power systems and/or renewable energy systems - 3 years of work experience in product or project design and engineering of solar, battery energy storage.

Experience in power conversion (ac/dc, dc/dc), advanced lithium-ion batteries, transformers,scada, ground fault monitors - specification, review, selection and operation. Experience in sizing cables, equipment, power supplies, auxiliary load calculation, etc. Possesses design knowledge and understanding of key technical data to select equipment. Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, UL, IEEE certifications as in relation to power conversion and batteries. Experience writing control software. Proficiency in MS Office Excel to develop calculators, etc.

Knowledge of Power Plant Controller, Frequency Regulation, Smart inverter functions (for example, P(f), Q(V), ride-through etc.) and grid-forming and battery topics (for example, RTE,degradation, C-rate, etc.).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated experience in technical writing. Hands-on experience of testing grid scale inverters, batteries or field commissioning experience is a plus but not necessary.
