    Role Overview

    Our company is looking for a Regional Controller to oversee all aspects of accounting activities, financial reporting, and controls for several hotels and entities. This position supervises, directs and supports the accounting team in a semi-centralized environment. The role includes ongoing process improvement through analysis of financial data as well as the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures and best practices.

    The ideal candidate would have worked in a similar role overseeing the accounting department for several hotels, with an extensive experience as Director of Finance in the hospitality industry. This individual should be a strong change leader, well organized and results-oriented.

    This position may involve occasional travel.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    •Supervise and direct the financial activities of the managed hotels and safeguard the assets

    •Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting

    •Ensure compliance with established accounting principles and all regulatory requirements

    •Interview, select, train and develop the accounting team

    •Analyze financial data of operations in order to maintain efficient and profitable operations

    •Lead, support and prepare forecasts and budgets as required

    •Oversee contracts and legal agreements and assist management in maintaining insurance, licenses, permits and contracts

    •Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and best practices to enhance the operation of the accounting department and the hotels

    •Establish and continuously audit internal financial and operational controls

    •Successfully complete internal and external audits

    •Manage banking relationships

    •Perform other special projects and responsibilities as requested by management

    Qualifications

    Skills and Qualifications

    •A minimum of 10 years of hospitality Finance/Accounting experience including positions as multi-unit Controller or Director of Finance

    •In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry, including operations, opening, conversion, transition, owner relations, and revenue management

    •Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    Education:

    •A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

    •CPA a plus

    Skills:
    • Strong leadership skills, ability to manage, coach and develop a team
    • Business acumen with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions

    •Proficiency with complex models using Microsoft Excel
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
    • Detail-oriented and well organized
    • Independent, with strong work ethic, self-motivated and fast learner
