    Atone is a seeking a talented EE design engineer with a passion for IoT and Security to join its growing engineering team developing the next generation personal security network. This engineer will work closely with robotics, software, mechanical, application and other cross functional team members and contribute towards the design of and implementation of personal security hardware. This is a hands-on position. Engineers are responsible for driving their projects through from concept design to delivery and support of hardware. Optimizing designs for reliability, weight, and efficiency will be a focus.

    You will work with engineering teams to collect requirements and design, layout boards and PCB assemblies, microcontrollers, ruggedized connectors, power devices while optimizing packaging volume and maximizing reliability. You will support your projects through production and test as needed.

    Required

    • B.S. in electrical engineering or related discipline

    • 5+ years of working experience on small devices

    • Be able to design electronics from scratch.

    • Experience with relevant schematic/layout tools

    • Experience with component selection

    • Completed (designed/built/tested) high voltage/high power designs

    • Experience with challenging thermal, mechanical, and environmental constraints

    • Experience with digital hardware design (Micro-controllers and communication protocols such as SPI, Bluetooth Ethernet, RS485 etc.)

    • Communicating with and driving suppliers

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Great documentation abilities

    • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere

    Desired

    o Prior IoT and low power device experience

    o B2C device experience

    o Passion for personal security, self-defense, etc.

    o Experience with design for reliability and high-volume manufacturability, using DFMEA and fault trees

    o EMC testing and debugging and troubleshooting experience

    o Experience in submissions for official certification through relevant compliance bodies such as FCC, CE, UL, TUV, etc.
