    Job Description

    Material Handler / Order Picker/Packer

    If you're an experienced Material Handler/ Order Picker/ Packer, we want you to join our team at the Minnetonka site. Your responsibilities will involve handling shipping, receiving, and general material operations, utilizing forklifts or cranes as needed to fulfill supplier, manufacturing, or customer demands accurately and promptly.

    This position is for the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

    Key Responsibilities:

    These duties are crucial and subject to augmentation when required.

    As the Material Handler, your duties will include:
    • Retrieving materials for production orders, customer sales, and miscellaneous items in a timely and precise manner.
    • Reviewing, assigning, and managing production orders to meet customer requirements.
    • Receiving, counting, and identifying incoming materials, ensuring accurate placement in the stockroom or warehouse.
    • Maintaining material and inventory records meticulously through manual or computer systems.
    • Communicating material status updates with manufacturing planners and departments for timely production and customer shipments.
    • Adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, including housekeeping, participating in EHS activities, and following emergency response measures.
    • Ensuring compliance with quality, DOT, and hazardous waste regulations while loading/unloading trucks and being prepared for spill emergencies.
    • Properly packaging materials for shipping based on quantity and size requirements.
    • Undertaking additional tasks as delegated by your Supervisor or Material Handler Facilitator.

    Requirements
    • 1+ year of material handling experience.
    • Certified to operate forklifts or lifts in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient in inventory management.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • 2 years of manufacturing background.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Proficient in understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
    • Experience with hoists/cranes.
    • Familiarity with SAP.
    • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
    • Previous exposure to wooden crate assembly.
