DescriptionJOB PURPOSE: The Kitchen Staff supports the Kitchen Manager in preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals for shelter residents. This role ensures food is prepared safely, the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary, and meals are delivered on time to shelter sites. The Kitchen Staff works as part of a team to provide dignified, high-quality meal service to residents.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE: 4 months to 1 year of experience in food service kitchen/cafeteria experience. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and safe food handling practices.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion. Dependable, team-oriented, and flexible with scheduling needs (including evenings, weekends, or holidays).
LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record. ServSafe Food Handler certificate (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
WORK LOCATION: In Person
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Must be 21 years or older. Must be a U.S. citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident. Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local; Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
