    The Quality Manager is responsible for management and execution of the craftory Quality Management System.

    The Quality Manager will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the Quality Department including Final Inspectors and Quality Specialists.

    Essential Functions

    Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in ensuring, improving, or assessing the quality of products, such as quality inspectors and quality engineers.

    Monitor, analyze, and improve ongoing quality performance data and metrics.

    Formulating and maintaining quality control objectives, and coordinating objectives with other managers to maximize quality and reliability and to minimize costs.

    Develop and maintain a quality improvement plan in collaboration with each functional department to ensure quality objectives can be met.

    Ownership and management of the craftory corrective and preventive action process.
    Managing, planning, coordinating, and directing quality control programs to ensure product quality is consistent with established standards.
    Collaborating with R&D top determine product specifications for use in reviewing manufactured products.
    Auditing manufacturing processes to ensure standardized work process are adhered to.
    Monitoring and reporting of craftory quality KPI's, and participation in daily KPI meetings on the shop floor.
    Collaborate with other managers and supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
    Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
    Observe work and monitor indicators to ensure operators conform to manufacturing standards.
    Ensure and enforce safety requirements within the quality department, and support safety initiatives throughout the craftory.
    Manage and maintain quality department training program.
    Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
    Review department employees' attendance and hours worked.

    Collaborate with corporate quality functions, such as supplier quality or customer quality, to ensure that quality issues are identified and communicated and addressed within the craftory.

    Other duties
    May be asked to perform other duties that are reasonable within the area of expertise.
    Required Skills/Abilities
    Solid proficiency with Excel and Minitab.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues.

    Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization.

    Strong teamwork and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team.

    Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast paced, very high growth environment.

    Clear and logical thinker with outstanding numeric ability supported by a rounded commercial awareness.
    Curious in nature and always looking to question, learn, and look for better ways to do things.

    Required Education and Experience
    BA/BS degree required. Black Belt certification a plus.
    3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
    5+ years of manufacturing quality experience .
    Woodworking and guitar experience is a plus.
    Knowledge and application of core Quality tools.
    Thorough understanding of formal problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.)

    Travel Requirements
    Less than 10% to other Gibson locations and customers as required.
    Physical Demands
    Basic physical stances and actions in a manufacturing environment (sitting, standing, walking)
    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
