    Job Title: Weld System Project Engineer


    Job Summary:
    Fori Automation is in search of a talented Welding Process Engineer to join their team at the Shelby Twp., Michigan facility under the guidance of the Weld Systems Engineering Manager.


    • Support the engineering team throughout the design and build process.
    • Interpret mechanical and control prints.
    • Analyze assembly processing capabilities, including layouts and cycle time.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Develop detailed assembly process solutions, document processes, and provide layouts.
    • Establish standards and tools for the department.
    • Experience in processing various welding lines.
    • Familiarity with weld gun selection and electrode design.
    • Utilize videos for process validation and improvement.
    • Provide technical support to Mechanical Engineering Project Engineers.
    • Control product and GD&T.
    • Evaluate machine ergonomics and maintain cycle time charts.
    • Create and update process documents.
    • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Utilize design software for tooling concepts.
    • Respond to customer inquiries and changes.
    • Ability to work both in the office and at customer locations.
    • Collaborate with simulation group for project completion.

    Qualifications:

    • Engineering degree.
    • 3 years of experience in Technical, Proposal & Estimating, as well as Engineering and Weld System Design.
    • Knowledge in Mechanical and Controls, Engineering, Estimating, and Conceptual Designs.
    • Proficiency in Inventor and/or 3D ACAD.

    Physical demands: The role may involve standing, walking, sitting, computer work, and occasional repetition with activity.


    Work environment: The noise level is usually moderate.
