    Airteq Systems is a leading manufacturer of security locking devices and other products for the correctional industry throughout the U.S.

    and internationally.

    Airteq is located in Montgomery, Alabama and is a division of Cornerstone Detention Products, Inc.

    This salaried position combines the duties of a production manager and purchasing specialist.

    We are looking for an individual to manage Airteq's daily production and purchasing activities in coordination with project managers/engineers and production team members.

    Initial training will be performed by the current manager who is retiring after nearly 20 years of service.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Production Management

    Use ERP software (Made2Manage) to manage production for various contract, wholesale, and retail orders

    Release project-specific job orders to the shop floor

    Create & release internal job orders to the shop floor using Job Order Queue in ERP system

    Close job orders after completion and move assemblies to inventory inside ERP software

    Work closely with project managers and production team leaders to schedule assembly work based on project needs and forecasted requirements

    Use Access database reports to assist in scheduling production

    Manage inventory and specify regular cycle counts of inventory components as needed

    Use month-end reports to ensure proper closeout of each month


    Purchasing:
    Evaluate/select new and existing suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality and availability

    Interact with suppliers to source components, supply material for vendor modification, schedule/track deliveries, and resolve issues as needed

    Create purchase orders using ERP system's purchasing queue to procure components for use in assembly process

    Assist with receiving of incoming material

    Order shop supplies & equipment as requested


    Requirements:
    Proven work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

    Capable and experienced with an ERP System and MS Excel

    Good interpersonal skills

    Must be organized and keep good housekeeping standards

    Self-motivated and able to operate with minimal oversight

    Ability to produce highly accurate work while multi-tasking

    Minimal travel required
