    Description

    Summary:

    Provides Physical Therapy Services to patients referred,including assessment, treatment plan development and implementationwith the follow-up and discharge planning. Actively assists withclinical aspects of the department, including program development,department operations and Performance Improvement activities.Assists with supervising and coordinating the Physical Therapy andPhysical Therapy Assistant student programs. In addition,supervises Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Technicians,and Volunteers.

    The CHRISTUS Children'sHospital, established in 1959, was the first children's hospital inSouth-Central Texas. Located downtown, this 190-plus-bed hospitalserves more than 70,000 children annually from San Antonio, SouthTexas and around the world. The hospital (in partnership withBaylor College of Medicine) is the only academic children'shospital in San Antonio. Our highly specialized services meet theunique medical needs of children, from Pediatric and NeonatalIntensive Care to Children's Emergency Services, the latesttreatments for deformities of the spine including titanium ribimplants and halo traction, a Heart Center, a specialized asthmaprogram, a highly regarded Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, andgrowing maternal services to include consultation, delivery, andmaternal fetal medicine.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's, Master's, or entry level Doctorateof Physical Therapy degree from an accredited college or universityin the area of Physical Therapy is required.
    • All modalities/equipment used by a Physical Therapist as outlinedby the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and OccupationalTherapy Examiners.
    • Licensed as a PhysicalTherapist by the Texas Executive Council of Physical andOccupational Therapy Examiners.
    • BLScertification is required.
    • Must alsosuccessfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer healthscreening examination and the annual screening, each yearthereafter as an employee
