    Role Description

    Join us as the Chief Cybersecurity Engineer for our program, where you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining strong cybersecurity solutions. Your responsibilities are crucial in protecting the Treasury's critical systems and data from evolving cyber threats. While the role is based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area, there is flexibility for some remote work.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and Implementation:
      • Lead the design and implementation of cybersecurity architectures and strategies.
      • Develop and deploy SOC tools and systems.
    • Security Architecture Review (SAR):
      • Carry out thorough security architecture reviews.
      • Offer strategic recommendations to enhance security postures.
    • Incident Response and Forensics:
      • Lead and oversee incident response activities.
      • Conduct forensic investigations and analyze malware.
    • Threat Intelligence and Hunting:
      • Supervise cyber threat intelligence collection and processing.
      • Manage threat hunting and adversary emulation operations.
    • Vulnerability Management:
      • Implement vulnerability scanning and assessment programs.
      • Analyze and address vulnerabilities across systems and networks.
    • Training and Development:
      • Create and deliver training programs for SOC personnel.
      • Ensure continual enhancement and knowledge sharing within the team.
    • Compliance and Risk Management:
      • Ensure adherence to federal cybersecurity standards and policies.
      • Develop and execute risk management frameworks.

    Educational Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security, or related field.
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification or equivalent.

    Experience:

    • At least 8 years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
    • Alternatively, 10 years of cybersecurity experience in a government setting.
    • Demonstrated experience with FedRAMP hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.

    Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in designing and implementing cybersecurity architectures and strategies.
    • Proficiency with SOC tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
    • Thorough understanding of incident response processes and forensic investigation techniques.
    • Experience with cyber threat intelligence and threat hunting methodologies.
    • Knowledge of vulnerability management processes and tools.

    Project Management and Leadership:

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, intricate cybersecurity projects.
    • Strong project management skills, encompassing planning, execution, and monitoring.
    • Capability to mentor and cultivate junior cybersecurity engineers.
