    University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

    The Assistant Director, Prospect Management will serve as the lead stakeholder in building a robust and systematic program for optimizing fundraising efforts around managed prospects. Provide specialized and high-level guidance, recommendations, and solutions supporting day-to-day fundraiser activity and overarching prospect strategy. Lead the discussion, planning, and implementation of new processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of portfolio management. Collaborate closely with colleagues on the Prospect Research team to develop improved best practices for prospect identification, assignment, and management. This role will work with the Business Intelligence team to develop metrics and reporting that provide valuable insights into prospect outreach and qualification, portfolio penetration, cultivation and solicitation efforts, and prospect movement through portfolios. Serve as UDAR's subject matter expert on portfolio management and act as an available resource to support staff, gift officers, and senior fundraising and University leadership.

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's Degree
    Preferred Education:
    Master's Degree
    Required Experience:
    5+ years of prospect management experience with progressive responsibilities

    Experience collaborating with various organizational units to impact the prospect development cycle and advance fundraising goals
    Preferred Experience:
    Demonstrated leadership or managerial experience preferred
    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Knowledge and understanding of industry standards in prospect management

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues in a range of roles and organizational levels

    Ability to understand, manipulate, and translate data for a diverse range of audiences and needs
    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Proficiency working in multiple CRM platforms

    Understanding of the relationship between CRM database software and external reporting and visualization tools

    Ability to proactively adapt working style and priorities based on shifting organizational structure and needs

    In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $86,000.00 to USD $106, New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
