    Distributed Sun (DSUN) is a clean energy infrastructure provider founded in 2009 that develops, finances, owns, and operates solar and battery storage projects across the community solar, commercial and industrial (C&I), and utility-scale markets.

    About the Role


    The Senior Director of Project Finance will play a critical role in formulating and implementing innovative financial solutions for truCurrents customers by engaging with the companys capital partners and investors.

    We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of successful deal execution and a strong background in financial modeling covering a variety of capital structures, including tax equity partnerships and as-a-service contracts.

    The ideal candidate has the ability to lead financial initiatives while actively supporting other members of the truCurrent team and stays current on new policy, regulatory, and tax-related developments in a constantly evolving industry.

    Responsibilities

    Lead the creation and management of complex financial models for the companys multi-asset class projects, optimizing contract structures to maximize value to truCurrent and its customers

    Spearhead the development of specialized financial structures, targeting areas such as transactive grid services, as-a-service offerings, electric vehicle charging, and asset securitization

    Manage the structuring and negotiation of project-level debt, tax equity, and other capital investments

    Interface with current and prospective capital partners, including private equity funds, banks, tax equity investors, strategic investors, and government entities

    Coordinate approval and closing processes with internal and external stakeholders, managing transaction teams and leading junior members on financial analysis and diligence

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial model inputs with up-to-date market intelligence

    Continually monitor structured energy transactions and available capital to advance truCurrent's internal financing efforts

    Conduct macroeconomic analyses, focusing on tax and accounting laws and broader sector trends and policies

    Direct financial data visualization efforts by incorporating new approaches and methodologies that are grounded in data-based recommendations for internal and external stakeholders

    Support the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and regulatory filings

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field required; MBA preferred

    10+ years experience of increasing responsibility in clean energy project finance roles for DERs, microgrids, VPPs, and utility-scale clean energy projects

    A proven track record of successful deal execution in the clean energy sector, with an emphasis on nascent technologies and electrification solutions

    Deep knowledge of innovative solutions to address customer sustainability objectives, including as-a-service contracts in the context of multi-state, multi-technology deployments

    Strong financial modelling skills for multi-asset class projects

    Expert in Microsoft Office and data visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.

    Ability to work independently and with a team, often balancing competing priorities with little supervision

    Experience in building effective teams and driving results with various stakeholder groups
