    Job Title: Emergency Department Technician

    The Emergency Department Technician position requires a diverse set of skills and knowledge, encompassing roles such as ED Tech, Patient Registrar, Unit Clerk, and Monitor Tech. As part of their responsibilities, the Emergency Department Tech performs various tasks delegated by RNs under supervision, supporting the nursing staff in delivering patient care with expertise and proficiency. Adhering to hospital policies and procedures is crucial, along with contributing to the maintenance of a clean, organized, well-stocked, and safe patient environment.

    Located a stone's throw away from the beautiful Padre Island shores, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South caters to the medical and surgical needs of patients in south Corpus Christi. With a licensing capacity of 158 beds, it strategically serves the rapidly expanding south side of Corpus Christi, offering a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency care, intensive care, and advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities. The hospital also houses a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, facilitating closeness between mothers and their premature or special needs infants during recovery.

    Requirements:
    - High School Diploma or GED is a prerequisite.
    - Completion of one of the following educational programs is mandatory:
    - Successful Nursing Assistant program completion
    - Successful Medical Assistant program completion
    - Successful Basic EMT program completion
    - Successful PT Care Tech program completion
    - Successful military basic combat training and Advanced Individual Training for military medics
    - Previous experience as a CHRISTUS Emergency Technician
    - Completion of an EKG course within 90 days of hire
    - Minimum of 1 year (2 years preferred) of patient care experience in an emergency department, EMT field/Emergency Care, or military medic setting
    - Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
    - De-escalation training within 90 days of hire/transfer date
    - Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Patient Care Tech OR EMT certification upon hire with preference for maintaining current EMT certification
