    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

    The Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor must be a licensed pharmacist who works with and is a member of the pharmacy management team and holds responsibility for managing and supervising all activities associated with Outpatient Pharmacy operations.

    The duties of the Pharmacy Supervisor (Outpatient Pharmacy Operations) include, but are not limited to:

    • Effectively organizes workload, directs activities, plans short- and long- term objectives/goals, solves problems, and achieves established goals within budget and staffing constraints.
    • Assess automation, software, and equipment needs on an ongoing basis to ensure that the pharmacy operations are efficient and safe. Work collaboratively with the Pharmacy ADPAC/Clinical Informatics Facility Program Manager, Administrative Officers and others as designated to prepare proposal and make requests for new or updated automation, software and equipment as needed.
    • Assists Pharmacy Service leadership in the development of pertinent clinical programs that optimize the skills of the professional and technical staff.
    • Elevates the skill levels of Outpatient Pharmacy Staff through mentoring and coaching, and through staff development of professional and technical staff under his/her supervision.
    • Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates regular, formal, and informal pharmacy training and education of staff, students, residents, and other healthcare disciplines to ensure the delivery of quality pharmacy services.
    • Collaborates with other Pharmacy Managers on pharmacy training and development to enhance learning and improve performance of all staff, residents, and students.
    • Supervises clinical pharmacists in Outpatient Pharmacy section in the main facility and Community Based Outpatient Clinics without a pharmacy.
    • Effectively maintains resource accountability to include staffing allocations, budget, space, and equipment related to the functioning of the Outpatient Pharmacy program.
    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM OR 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
