    Description


    The purpose of the Assistant Controller is to support the Controller in the execution of the overall accounting function, maintaining accurate and complete financial statement records, establishing and maintaining appropriate controls and procedures, preparing internal and external financial reporting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    The incumbent will also provide technical accounting support to the Accounting Department and Senior Leadership.


    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Collaborate with the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations.

    Lead month-end close and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that are accurate and in accordance with US GAAP.

    Provide guidance and prepare technical accounting memos on critical positions. * Maintain documentation over business processes and accounting policies to demonstrate compliance with internal control requirements.

    Prepare and timely distribute quarterly reporting package to parent company.

    Work with third parties to provide necessary information for tax preparation or the annual audit, when applicable.

    Serve as a business partner with other departments.

    Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives.

    Have went through 3-4 busy seasons of Auditing and Accounting

    Experience auditing any revenue generating companies within the transportation, leasing or logistics industry
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

    Four or more years of relevant experience, preferably with a background in public accounting.

    Strong knowledge of US GAAP, in particular fixed asset, and lease accounting.

    Auditing experience (More important than accounting experience)

    Has worked for a big 4 Accounting Firm (Deloitte, PWC, EY, or KPMG)

    Revenue generating experience
