    Description
    Job Title:
    Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - Role in Buffalo Grove, Illinois


    Shift:
    • Hourly basis, day shifts, every other weekend, 4 hours per week
    • Reporting to the Director of Radiology/Imaging with accountability to the Manager and the Team Facilitator
    • Performs MRI procedures under the direction of radiologists with minimal supervision
    • Selected duties include documenting procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring patient safety
    • Performs various MRI imaging procedures and selects appropriate technique protocols
    • Prepares and positions patients for MRI procedures, utilizing necessary immobilization devices
    • Processes and develops images following established procedures
    • Demonstrates skills in assessing, treating, and caring for patients of all age groups
    • Involves family/guardian in the plan of care, conducts patient and family education
    • Retrieves non-controlled medications
    • Maintains a clean work environment and conducts calibration and quality control procedures for optimal MRI equipment performance
    • Participates in maintaining patient and operational records in the Radiology Department
    • Emphasizes professional growth through attending Continuing Education classes and providing suggestions for technological improvements
    • Attends inservices and technical meetings as needed
    • Requirements:
    • Must be registered as an MR technologist and meet specific criteria or have relevant degrees and experience
    • One year of MRI experience preferred with expertise in transverse anatomy
    • Knowledge of proper body mechanics and current CPR certification
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff
    • Analytical skills to determine proper patient positioning and computer codes
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting procedures and patient information
