    renewable 9-month position

    Summer, 2024


    The Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) is searching for a well-rounded non-tenure track clinical faculty member to join our community of high-achieving lecturers, researchers, and students.

    The clinical professor's responsibilities include teaching core principles, coordination of activities in the online master's in public health (MPH) program and encouraging continued research and development of public health improvement opportunities.

    This position includes an opportunity to teach public health courses based on the candidate's interest and expertise. With this position there is also an expectation of flexible summer employment to teach the practicum related course. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for the coordination/monitoring/evaluation of the required public health practicum for the online MPH students.


    Candidates must have a strong interest in educating and preparing students with training in the health sciences, emphasizing rural public health, implementation science, and health outcomes.

    Building and maintaining strong community partnerships is also a critical role of this individual.

    Competitive applicants will be those with a doctorate degree, strong theoretical training, quantitative and/or qualitative research skills, and excellent oral and written communication.

    We are looking for an inspired faculty member who can advise and mentor a wide breadth of students.

    She/he will provide service to the department/college/university through committee membership and other opportunities to help advance Clemson University's academic environment.

    DPHS faculty has active collaborative research with other Clemson University departments, the Medical University of South Carolina, Prisma Health, and others.

    Qualifications


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Hold an earned doctorate in public health, health services research, or related field.
    • Teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate level.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Public health research experience

    Clinical Professor level requirements:
    The incumbent must demonstrate academic experience, previous mentoring, effective teaching, and substantial scholarship capacity. S/he must demonstrate a track record of attracting extramural research funding independently and supporting successful research team
