    Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a job in Harwood Heights, Illinois.

    7)Maintains a safe work environment according to regulatory agency standards.
    1)Completely prepares sterile field in a timely manner.
    2)Complies with departmental policy and procedures regarding specimens, counts, and disposition of contaminated instruments.
    3)Maintains sterile field and boundaries prior to and during procedure.
    Responsible for the preparation of the surgical field and supplies/instruments delivered to the field.
    1)Verifies instrument/supply/equipment available and ready per physician preference card.
    In collaboration with health care team, assists in providing for a cooperative work environment.
    Responsible for compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
    2)Utilizes guest relation techniques with members of health care team and patients.

    2)Independently completes assignments/projects.
    3)Participates in unit/hospital committees and projects.

    1-2 years OR scrub experience (preferred) -High school graduate or GED. -May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening disease and radiation. Ability to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.

    For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
