    Description
    The Donor Strategic Analyst supports the various reporting, data analysis, and list generation needs of the teams across the Stewardship and Development department. He/she is actively involved in both the development and the ongoing preparation and distribution of any reporting tools developed. This is a critical role in that he/she provides team members with information required to make key and sound management decisions.

    Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Operations, the Donor Data Analyst will be exposed to and/or actively involved in all aspects of fundraising operations. It is expected that gaining a deeper understanding of the needs of the organization will equip him/her to support the teams more effectively.

    Essential Functions

    • Understanding the data structures within each application system used in the department.
    • Developing and maintaining management, performance, and transactional reports.
    • Preparing and distributing regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.
    • Training team members how to access/run reports and use other visualization tools.
    • Providing and analyzing data requested by team members within the department.
    • Offering interpretations, insights, and/or recommendations to team members based on analyses performed.
    • Developing and updating Power BI databases required to support the reporting and data visualization needs of the department.
    • Developing and maintaining dashboards and data visualizations within systems used by team members.
    • Creating and building lists for campaigns, mailings, invitations, etc., working directly with management to determine criteria for audiences.
    • Auditing and monitoring data elements for consistency and accuracy.
    • Liaison with the ITS team to ensure compliance with data governance standards.
    • Collaborating with departments, as needed, to provide data and/or reports required by teams outside of Stewardship and Development.
    • Performing other duties as assigned.
    Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Power BI and Excel.
    • Salesforce report building experience.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Enjoys analytical work.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Strong ability to problem-solve.
    • Authorized to work in the US legally, without sponsorship.
    Preferred Requirements
    • Knowledge of campus wide information system software applications (Campus Solutions, Salesforce, DonorFlow, etc.) utilized in the work unit is desirable.
    • Knowledge of data management and analytical tools (SQL, Tableau, etc.).
    • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data analysis, or management consulting.
    • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or another similar field.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, typing and limited lifting pounds).

    Work hours are Monday through Friday, 38.75 hours per week.

    Remote work is optional.

    Minimal travel is expected for this position. This team member will be expected to attend Stewardship and Development conferences held annually and usually within the Chicago area.
