Immerse yourself in the world of property and casualty products, underwriting philosophy, and cutting-edge strategies that define our industry leadership. Our program goes beyond traditional boundaries; you'll rotate through various departments such as Claims, Actuarial, Risk Management, Premium Audit, and Sales, gaining a comprehensive understanding of insurance operations. Develop your entry-level sales and marketing skills, forge valuable relationships, and be a key contributor to our dynamic organization.

Qualifications

• Internship or insurance work experience preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated excellence in Customer Service
• Ability to work independently & collaboratively, while handling multiple tasks in a dynamic fast paced environment
• Detailed orientated, Problem Solver with strong interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint and email systems.

• Master property and casualty products, gaining invaluable underwriting skills such as risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis.
• Explore workflows, guidelines, and processing steps within the business unit.
• Collaborate in underwriting and pricing accounts, offering recommendations based on your growing skills.
• Engage with colleagues across different departments, experiencing a collaborative work environment.
• Gain insights into key business unit strategies and their alignment with corporate objectives.
• Establish relationships throughout the Berkley Southeast organization, connecting with leadership and other department managers.
• Conduct financial analyses using cutting-edge tools to assess the financial health of insured entities.
• Manage renewal applications, communicate requirements, and articulate changes to policy terms and conditions.
• Underwrite endorsement requests, ensuring efficient processing through collaboration with underwriting assistants.
• Develop marketing skills with agents, brokers, and clients.
• Cultivate strong customer service skills.
• Collaborate with underwriters in processing renewals, new business, and endorsements.
• Pursue ongoing educational courses through The Institutes towards a CPCU or AU designation.
