    About the Job

    The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full-time ABR board certified/eligible radiation oncologist. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity, with a preference for candidates who have developed expertise in radiotherapeutic treatment of thoracic, genitourinary, head & neck, or CNS malignancies. Minimum requirements are an MD or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible in radiation oncology, completion of an ACGME-accredited radiation oncology residency training.

    The faculty appointment will be in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The University of Minnesota is a large and diverse university and medical school with a large subspecialty practice plan of over 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, University of Minnesota Physicians. The candidate will also be expected to maintain a clinical practice and may see patients at University of Minnesota clinics throughout the Minneapolis metro area. The position provides substantial resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and exceptional opportunities for collaboration with investigators in the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Masonic Cancer Center ), an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Candidates will have the opportunity to mentor and teach medical residents and medical students.

    Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research. Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.
