    Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.

    We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team for the academic year. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and creating inclusive classroom environments.

    Caseload/Details:
    The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for a middle school caseload prising approximately 18-24 students. The role involves designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with general education teachers and support staff, and providing tailored instruction to meet the unique needs of each student.

    Special Requirements:
    Applicants must hold an Alabama Special Education (AL SPED) license.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities, ensuring alignment with state standards and educational goals.
    • Differentiate instruction to acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
    • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, incorporating research-based strategies and acmodations as needed.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, self-advocacy, and independence.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and related service providers to support student progress and address individual needs.
    • Monitor student performance through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, behavior, and attendance.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices and pedagogy.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
    • Valid Alabama Special Education (AL SPED) teaching license.
    • Previous experience working with middle school students with disabilities preferred.
    • Knowledge of best practices in special education instruction, assessment, and behavior management.
    • Strong munication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
