- Perform credit analysis for new customers and prepare credit file for approval.
- Support Accounts Receivable function by compiling invoices, posting receipts, and filing on an as needed basis.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging report and follow up on overdue payments.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Perform daily banking requirements including credit card receipt reconciliation and bank account reconciliations.
- Responsible for general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for investigating and resolving discrepancies between general ledger and third party providers.
- Collaborate with the finance department to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Resolve customer payment discrepancies and shortages.
- Create customer credit memos.
- Daily sales reporting.
- Support month-end closing and financial statement preparation.
- Participation in ad-hoc financial and accounting projects as needed.
- This position is an individual contributor role.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong computer skills with Excel essential (pivot tables, vlookups)
- A proactive, hands-on strategic thinker with effective problem-solving skills to strategically analyze financial data and prepare financial reports rather than basic reporting.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and good recordkeeping is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must use discretion and confidentiality.
