Job Description

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering an energetic, friendly, and elevated guest experience in a fast-paced Strip environment. This position maintains a clean, stocked, organized bar and supports venue readiness by assisting with opening/closing setup, guest engagement, entertainment coordination, and maintaining ameriCAN Operational Service Standards (AOSS) throughout the shift.

This role requires a polished, professional appearance, the ability to confidently interact with guests, and the ability to work collaboratively with union team members and management to support service, cleanliness, and venue flow.

Specific Job Functions

• Acknowledge every guest within the AOSS timeframe, a warm smile and a prompt, friendly greeting.
• Engage guests with a welcoming, high-energy personality while maintaining professional boundaries and service standards.
• Take beverage orders following AOSS cash handling procedures and sequence of service, provide recommendations when appropriate, and create a "wow" guest experience through personable service and brand-positive engagement.
• Prepare, garnish, and serve cocktails in accordance with AOSS.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area to meet AOSS guidelines.
• Monitor inventory and prepare orders to replenish stock at predetermined par levels.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while upholding the highest standards of hospitality.
• Adhere to all cash handling practices in accordance with AOSS, TI Cash handling procedures, applicable law, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including that employees will not be subject to automatic payroll deductions for register shortages.
• Ensure compliance and cleanliness with SNHD health code regulations and AOSS.
• Keep workstation stocked and cleaned for the next shift and organized according to AOSS.
• Use correct glassware and stemware as specified by AOSS.
• Stock bar with beer, liquor, mixers, juices, garnishes, napkins, cups, and supplies as assigned.
• Polish, clean, and organize glassware and all service wares to maintain presentation standards.
• Process cash, credit card, and room charge transactions in accordance with AOSS and TI cash handling procedures.
• Provide on-the-job guidance to newly hired team members during assigned shifts, as directed by management, without supervisor authority.
• Verify guest identification for age compliance when necessary (check IDs for guests appearing under 30).
• Respond promptly to special requests from management and guests.
• Always maintain ethical and professional conduct.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding guest requests, issues, or concerns.
• Answer telephone calls using proper etiquette and departmental standards.
• Perform additional duties as required to ensure the success of the department.
• Assist with opening/closing bar station setup as directed, including preparation of the assigned bar area for service and assisting with incidental guest-ready tasks in the immediate service zone setting up dining room areas and bar stations.
• Actively adjusting seating and floor plan for proper success of guest experience and operational demand.
• With management approval, support venue readiness by assisting with basic operational setup such as:
• Verifying televised events are displayed appropriately
• Assisting with minor adjustments to music/entertainment readiness
• Helping ensure the pool table/ darts area and surrounding guest zones are clean and guest-ready

Brand Presentation & Uniform Standards

• To meet the AmeriCAN Beer & Cocktail brand guest expectations, the Bartender must:
• Wear the approved uniform for the position as assigned and maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance in accordance with Company standards.
• Maintain grooming and hygiene standards that support a polished guest-facing presentation.
• Demonstrate confident guest interaction, engaging communication, and positive, respectful energy in a public-facing environment.

Operational Needs Clause

Duties and responsibilities may be adjusted based on business demands, guest needs, and operational priorities consistent with the employee's job classification, training, safety requirements, and applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Union Position – Treasure Island Hotel & Casino

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and is located at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino. In accordance with the CBA, qualified internal Treasure Island employees will be considered first. Any remaining openings will then be offered to external candidates who meet all required qualifications. All offers of employment are contingent upon meeting applicable requirements, including successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume bar environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, maintain composure under pressure, and work efficiently in a high-traffic Strip environment.
• Comfortable assisting with operational setup tasks and maintaining venue readiness.
• Knowledge of ABC laws and responsible alcohol service.
• Professional demeanor and strong teamwork mindset.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year bartending experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move quickly for extended periods (up to 8-10+ hours).
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (beer kegs, cases of beverages).
• Ability to handle repetitive motions (pouring, shaking, cutting garnishes).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high noise levels.
• Manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar tools safely.
