- BSN required.
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse License required.
- BLS required
- Must obtain ACLS prior to end of orientation and may not practice independently without ACLS
- PALS preferred
- Newly licensed nurse must obtain ACLS and PALS within first six (6) months of employment
- ED experience strongly preferred.
- 2 years' telemetry experience preferred.
- Adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. standards.
- Must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
- Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
- Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, team work, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.

The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our new patient care model has been designed to provide high-quality, efficient care, and to reduce unnecessary wait times.Diagnostic X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and MRI is available for most of the day, seven days a week.
Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center and are in process of initiating a TeleStroke Program in collaboration with BWH and MGH.
