    Job Summary

    The Sustainability Specialist is responsible for the collection and maintenance of sustainability related data and information throughout CDI's supply chain.

    Essential Functions
    • Collect data from various departments within California Dairies, Inc., DairyAmerica and Challenge Dairy Products related to the tracking of various sustainability metrics.
    • Manage deadlines and work closely across the different departments of Finance, Regulatory Compliance, Operations, Procurement, and others.
    • Input and manage flow of sustainability data into a variety of cloud-based databases.
    • Respond to customer surveys relating to CDI's sustainability metrics on behalf of CDI, DairyAmerica and Challenge Dairy Products.
    • Take on projects and assist others when needed.
    • Follow all safety and working rules.
    • Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality environment.
    • Excellent regular full-time attendance in support of company objectives.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Dairy or sustainability experience is preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Simple math reasoning required.
    Language Skills

    A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed.

    Reasoning Ability

    Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Must possess or be able to acquire a California Driver's License.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees will be subject to temperature associated with an air-cooled room. Temperatures range from 34 to 100 degrees. Travel between plants and the member dairies will be required.

    Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, rubber boots, gloves and safety glasses must be used in the performance of duties while working in the plants. Proper lifting techniques must be employed at all times.
