JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) assesses needs, plans strategies, and delivers evidence-based supports to students with communicative disabilities in different educational settings such as general and special education classrooms, specialized schools, and community settings. Students may present single sound errors or multiple disabilities. The therapist must be skilled at implementing varied strategies and utilizing various service delivery models to improve communicative competence. Services provided include assessment and intervention in speech sound disorders, voice, language, pragmatics, fluency, literacy (phonology), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and dysphagia. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for qualified applicants. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to submit their applications.
Essential Functions:
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Physical Demands: The employee needs to sit and use hands regularly. Walking, reaching, talking, and hearing are frequent tasks. Standing for extended periods, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. Lifting up to 10 pounds is frequent, and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position spanning 193 days in locations throughout Bucks County. The workday is 7.5 hours with specific hours based on assignments in high school, middle school, elementary school buildings, or community educational settings.
Travel: Travel requirements depend on assignments within Bucks County and are reimbursed according to current IRS guidelines.

Education and Experience:
* Consideration given to strong Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates for Long Term Substitute (LTS) roles in the Related Services program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): United States citizenship or work authorization is mandatory.
